The Sussex Cricket Society was formed on 6 April 1965 from a happy thought
by Alan Oakman, the former Sussex and England cricketer.
The aims and objectives of the Society are "To further cricket interest and enthusiasm
and to provide a source of contact between cricket lovers and
to promote and conduct meetings, social functions and other gatherings."
To this end the Society holds 6 monthly meetings from October through to March
Currently the Society has over 200 members.
All meetings are held at 1st Central County Cricket Ground Eaton Road Hove

Our Programme Includes
Monthly meetings are held from October through to March. At each we have a speaker from the world of cricket - a mixture of Sussex cricket and the wider cricket scene.
Meetings are held in the Jim Parks bar in the Spen Cama pavilion.
The 6 meetings, all with a speaker are a mixture of lunches and teas. All members are invited to attend and bring a guest. Prices for the lunch or tea for the 2023/24 close season will normally be either £25-35 (we are however charging just £15 for our first lunch of the "season" : where Mark Ramprakash will be speaking.) We welcome new members and anyone who interested is invited to join us.
The Society makes an annual contribution towards the maintenance of the grave of W.G.Grace
and also contributes a donation towards Sussex Youth Cricket Development as well as awards for individual performances in the Sussex Cricket League
